As you can see...it snowed!
I bought this car from the Ford Dealer in North Bay over a year ago with the idea of fixing the car up and getting a safety inspection for it and then driving it as my main driver. That was the plan. But some health issues got in the way and it has been sitting in my driveway ever since. While I was able to do many of the repairs I haven't finished all of them. So I have decided to sell the car to someone who can get it repaired and use it. Its a nice looking car with a body and interior in very good shape and excellent tires. This car was made in Canada and is the last of the full sized body on frame rear wheel drive cars made. They are a particularly tough car with very good gas mileage and lower repair costs and the favorite of Police forces and taxi companies for heavy use. This model is the luxury leather interior consumer model. A similar car to this car is the Mercury Grand Marquis. I understand that several parts are shared with the Lincoln. There is a lot of built in quality on this model and it has a digital dash and nearly all of the options.
Here is what needs to be done:
1. Gas tank leaks. I have purchased a brand new tank for it but have not installed it yet. The new gas tank comes with the car!
2. brake line replacement. The brakes are in good shape but the brake lines are surface rusted and require replacement.
3. This problem is recent. The car was starting fine and last month when I went to start it it just clicked. The lights dimmed when it clicked so a mechanic friend of mine suggested it probably had a ground fault in the starter. It might be something that could be solved with a couple of wacks to the starter but I think it is more likely that the starter will need replacing. I can't get at it in my driveway so its best done by a mechanic with a hoist.
Repairs done:
repaired driver floor pan, replaced driver's front shock, replaced lower ball joint drivers side replaced upper torsion bar linkage to wheel hub drivers side front.
Please note that I had the car on the road once and it drives and shifts well. It has a 4.6 L engine which is surprisingly good on gas for a vehicle of it's size. This is a big comfortable safe car. If you are a larger person like me you will be really comfortable in it. It would be an ideal safe winter car or great for road trips.

Offers -Please note that I am losing money at $1500. From my research if the car was certified and minor repairs made to the paint it would retail in the $3500 -$4000 range on a used car lot. I have priced it low for an easy sale. If you wish to make a reasonable offer I will consider it. Rather than give it away to a low ball offer I would rather keep working on it and use it as a second vehicle.
TRADES I will consider the following trades: I need a pickup or full sized van that is close to being certified and will consider a straight trade. I will also consider a snowmobile in good running condition with ownership papers or a boat motor and trailer combination.
